ANNUAL FUNCTION 07

1.         The annual BBQ party will be held on 28 July 2007, in Kent, Ashford Playing Field.  All members are requested to book a day off on this day so that you and your families can all attend and enjoy the annual gathering.  A detailed route will be published in one of our local Nepali paper.  Or you can log on to www.rac.com using the post code TN23 3DH. 

 

   

WELCOMED TO VOICE CHAIRPERSON KYC NEPAL

1.         The KYC- UK’s President Mr Siri Limbu also warmly welcomed with a bunch of flowers and the President read out biographic achievements of Mrs Nar kumari Limbu, Vice Chairperson of KYC – Nepal, Central Committee and was later entertained to dinner by a small group.   She in return thanked the KYC UK and wished for its prosperity for the future

 
         
   

KYC UK WORLD-WIDE WEBSITE

2.         The KYC – UK, world-wide website was officially opened by the Vice – Chairperson of KYC – Nepal, Central committee Mrs Nar Kumari Limbu.  The President briefly outlined the contents of the website with a presentation and requested all to visit www.chumlunguk.com.   On behalf of KYC UK, the President kindly extended his thanks to Biswasdip Tigila and Ganesh Limbu for their contribution.

 
         
 

Selection of Additional New Committee Members

3.         The KYC – UK memberships is expanding every day with a corresponding increase in responsibilities  and with the view of further improving KYC UK across the wider community separate executive members are needed to take on  and share the responsibility.  On behalf of KYC-UK, I am pleased to announce and welcome the newly appointed members Mrs Durga Limbu, as Cultural Co-ordinator of KYC – UK and Mr Jaya Maden as Area Representative of Folkestone.

KYC – UK Participated in Tamudee Gurkha Football Cup on 28 May 07.

4.         The following members of YKC – UK, represented the above event led by Ex Capt Bom Limbu and performed very well despite being 'old and bold'.  On behalf of all members of KYC – UK as a President, I would like to thank all players and those who came to cheer the team on that day:

5.         The KYC UK is aiming to publish the above patrika as a KYC – UK 'mukpatra' by 28th Jul 07, with help of our locally UK based members.  Should any members wish to contribute any materials (articles, poem and jokes etc), are requested to contact Mr Tanka Wanem / Biswasdip Tigela. and Tanka Tembe.

6.         A letter was received from Central Executive Committee KYC Nepal, Ex Maj Deoman Limbu MBE, and 20 X Mundum books, 50 X calenders and some copies of Taanchhopa.  The content of the letter will be notified to the all members separately in due course.

 
     
 

Invitation of the Chairman Kirat Yakthung Chumlung Central Committee, Nepal:  Professor Arjun Limbu

As agreed at our general meeting, Professor Arjun Limbu has been invited on behalf of all Kirat Yakthung Chumlung (UK) at our Annual Get-Together and Interaction Programme on Saturday, 28th July 2007.

 

 

Participation by KYC (UK) at Nepal New Year Celebration, Ashford

Members and children of KYC (UK) participated at the Nepal New Year Celebration in Ashford on 14 April 2007.  On behalf of all members, the President KYC (UK) would like to thank all the participants for their hard work and for helping to promote the Limbu culture.

The troupe has also been invited to perform at Folkestone by the local council on 16 June 2007.
